DR ROBERT STEVENSON
Rob Stevenson qualified in medicine in 2005 at Leicester-Warwick medical school and then trained to qualify in general medicine in 2008. He went on to obtain his Fellowship in Clinical Oncology in 2013. He trained within the West Midlands and has a special interest in Uro-oncology (prostate, Kidney and bladder cancer) and lung cancer.
In 2014 Rob was appointed as a Consultant Clinical Oncologist at the Queen Elizabeth hospital in Birmingham. He was involved in the development of Stereotactic Radiotherapy for early stage lung cancer at the QE and has introduced concurrent radiotherapy for stage 3 lung cancer at UHB. He also manages patients with prostate, kidney and bladder cancer.
Rob is involved in teaching and is an accredited by the GMC as a trainer and educational supervisor.
He is also involved in Research and has been a Principal investigator on several National clinical trials and a co-investigator on numerous others. He is also widely published in National and International journals.
Rob was the Radiotherapy Service lead for University Hospitals Birmingham between 2018 and 2020, and the Radiotherapy lead for West Midlands January between 2019 and 2024. He is the current lung cancer lead for University hospitals Birmingham.
